In Elden Ring, maximizing your damage output is often the difference between a triumphant victory and starting over at the last Site of Grace. Whether you're wielding colossal greatswords, casting devastating sorceries, or opting for quick-hit dex builds, choosing the right Elden Ring items and talismans can significantly increase your effectiveness in battle.

After over 250 hours exploring the Lands Between and trying nearly every build type, I've found certain talismans and consumables to be essential for players looking to squeeze every last bit of power from their setup. Here's my personal list of 10 must-have talismans and items that consistently helped me destroy bosses, melt enemies in PvP, and tear through late-game content. Some are loot, others are crafted, and a few can be bought—including from trusted elden ring buy consumables sources when needed.

1. Radagon’s Scarseal / Radagon’s Sourceal
These talismans increase Strength and boost damage for strength-based builds. The Sourceal adds more points but comes with a higher damage taken penalty.

Personal Take: I used Radagon’s Sourceal when building a heavy-hitting colossal sword character. Even with the defense trade-off, the raw power boost was worth it in almost every boss encounter.

2. Shard of Alexander
Enhances the damage of skills by 15%. Perfect for Ash of War-heavy builds.

Where to Get It: Finish Iron Fist Alexander’s questline.

My Experience: Essential for any build using weapon skills. Paired with Flame of the Redmanes or Lion’s Claw, this talisman helped me stagger enemies and crush bosses quickly.

3. Magic Scorpion Charm
Boosts magic attack power by 12%, making it ideal for sorcery users.

Where to Get It: Progress through Seluvis’s questline.

My Experience: This talisman made my Comet Azur blasts noticeably deadlier. Combined with Lusat’s Glintstone Staff and Cerulean Hidden Tear, I could burst bosses down before they moved.

4. Flame-Shrouding Cracked Tear
A Physick Tear that boosts fire attack power, great for Pyromancers or fire-based Ashes of War.

How to Use: Mix it in the Flask of Wondrous Physick.

My Experience: I combined this with Flame, Grant Me Strength for insane burst damage using Giant’s Flame Take Thee. It’s easy to miss, but completely worth it.

5. Flame, Grant Me Strength (Incantation)
This self-buff boosts both physical and fire attack power for a limited time.

Location: Found behind the Fort Gael in Caelid.

My Experience: No matter the build—melee or hybrid—this was a mainstay. It has no real downside and gives a major offensive boost. I always cast it before entering a boss fog gate.

6. Ritual Sword Talisman
Boosts attack power when your HP is full.

Where to Find: Found in Lux Ruins.

My Experience: In both PvE and PvP, this talisman gave me a noticeable damage bump. With the right flask and healing setup, I could maintain full HP for a while.

7. Axe Talisman
Enhances charge attack power—very useful for strength-based characters and those using colossal weapons.

Location: Found in Mistwood Ruins.

My Experience: During early game and even in late-game battles, it made my fully charged heavy attacks significantly more dangerous. Especially useful with Zweihander and Greatsword builds.

8. Rotten Winged Sword Insignia
Increases attack power with successive hits.

Where to Get: Progress Millicent’s questline and support her during the battle at the Haligtree.

My Experience: With twinblades or fast dual-wield weapons, this was a constant source of scaling damage. It’s incredibly satisfying watching your output rise mid-fight.

9. Boiled Crab / Exalted Flesh
These consumables boost physical damage negation and physical attack, respectively.

How to Get: Buy from merchants or craft using Elden Ring buy consumables sources if you want instant access.

My Experience: Before any tough boss or duel, I’d pop Exalted Flesh. The difference, while subtle, added up. Boiled Crab helped me tank through some enemy hits while still dishing out punishment.

10. Physick Combinations: Opaline Hardtear + Stonebarb Cracked Tear
Stonebarb helps stagger enemies easier, while Opaline increases defense—perfect for staying alive while landing heavy attacks.

My Experience: In high-risk boss fights where I used slow weapons, this combo helped me stay standing and break poise faster.

Optimizing for damage in Elden Ring isn't just about weapons and stats—your Elden Ring items, talismans, and consumables often make the biggest impact in combat. These ten options helped me beat even the hardest challenges the game threw at me, and made co-op and PvP much more effective.

If farming some of these seems too time-consuming, there are safe options for elden ring buy consumables that let you prep without grinding. But regardless of your playstyle, trying out these damage-boosting tools will transform your combat experience. Stay strong, Tarnished.
